The piece
Three nesting siniya with a mirrored base, cut from acrylic — about 30, 25 and 20 cm, and the three stack inside one another for the drive from one hall to the next. Each one dresses a station of the night: the rings, the henna, the musk and orange-blossom water, the bride's jewellery, the sugared almonds — and comes out of the back room at its moment. The mirrored base throws the hall light upwards, which is what makes a siniya hold on video, since it is almost always filmed from above. Ships flat.
