Who we are
Tasdira brings back from Istanbul what the machta and the bride’s family go there to buy: jewellery, taj, trays, boxes and garment bags, chosen piece by piece, delivered to the door anywhere in Algeria, paid at the door.
The same pieces a machta travels there for: khit errouh, tikka, mahzma, khelkhal, taj, parures, presentation trays, boxes, garment bags and favour pouches for the guests. We bring them back on every trip, in our own suitcases.
The catalogue is short on purpose. Every reference was chosen on site, in hand, in the accord it actually sells in.
The accord first: gold for the chedda and the karakou, silver for Kabyle dress, rose gold for powdery tones. Then the piece in hand — weight, clasp, the way it falls. A piece that will not be worn through a whole night does not enter the catalogue.
We turn down more references than we keep. What stays is what we would buy again for a sister.
Gold- or silver-plated brass, rhinestone and cut glass, organza and velvet, lacquered wood for the hangers and trays. Every product page says so plainly, with dimensions and weight.
These are ceremony pieces: made for a night of photographs and a season of weddings, not for water, perfume or a damp drawer.
Neither solid gold nor solid silver, no precious stones, no branded crystal, no finish that never changes. A product page that suggested otherwise would be false. We promise a piece true to its photo and its description, that you may open in front of the courier, and take back within ten days if it does not suit.
It is less spectacular than a lifetime guarantee. It is keepable, and it is kept.

Jewellery
Brass or alloy, plated gold, silver or rose gold.
No gold, no solid silver. The colour is that of the precious metal; the material is not.
Stones
Rhinestone and cut glass, hand-set or glued depending on the piece.
No precious stones and no branded crystal, whatever name the market gives them.
Textiles
Organza, satin, velvet, tulle, ribbons; embroidery in metallic thread.
No silk and no real gold thread. Fold without pressing the embroidery.
Wood and trays
Lacquered or painted wood, embossed metal, mirror and resin for some trays.
Neither silverware nor solid copper. The trays are for presenting, not for cooking.
