The piece
Across the tasdira the bride changes outfit four to seven times and stays indoors, on carpet or on the platform: heels do not survive that many changes, and a long traditional outfit hides the foot. These are what she actually wears underneath, swapped with each outfit to match its colour. Satin upper — velvet, tulle or mesh depending on the model — beads, rhinestones or lace on the strap, soft sole, flat heel. This is not the embroidered babouche worn with the karakou: it is an indoor slipper, and it is worn indoors.
