Beaded and sequinned envelope clutch — gold-tone

The embroidered clutch is the evening bag for the gold-tone outfits: the one the bride keeps in her hand with the karakou, the caftan or the blousa through the tasdira, and the one the family packs into the trousseau beside the shoes. A soft envelope clutch with a flap, in fabric covered all over in embroidery done by hand: bugle beads, seed beads and sequins sewn close together. The flap closes with a magnet, and a detachable gold-tone chain clips to both sides to wear it on the shoulder — or comes off to hold it in the hand. The beads and sequins are gold-tone in colour: this is not precious metal, and no precious-metal thread goes into the embroidery. One colour only, gold-tone, to go with the gold-tone jewellery of the outfit and with the msayess.

Care

Wipe it dry, with no water or product; do not rub the embroidery or put anything heavy on it, so no thread is pulled; store it flat, chain taken off and laid beside it, in a fabric bag so nothing catches the beads.
